Mulino Colombo, located in 21 De Amicis street, in Monza is an industrial archeological monument, rare and enviated, come to us completely integrated in his own original surrounding, with whom is one and the same thing.
Miss Antonietta Colombo gave it to the Commune of Monza in 1987, which restored it to be always at the city and Brianza disposal, as she did her life long. She was really proud of her family activity, she who was a very important part of it. Whimsicaland lively of disposition, she attended in contability and sales and in the last twenty years, when the grinden activity ended and the little grocert store on De Amicis street decreased, her most important engagement was to shown over the mill to schoolchildren and keens.
It's right and proper thanking her and her brothers; Luigi, lierature school teacher, and Riccardo, painter, whom wife and two young sons helped us to save precious document about their family and building history too. The Commune of Monza committed the Mulino Colombo management to the "Ethnological Museum Monza and Brianza" which dedicated to do many kinds of activity to spread better and better its fame.
In addiction to exhibitions and demonstrations there will be also arranged and created a Video-Museum which will keep together documents about mills and Lambro river too, to place them at schools and experts disposal by informatical instruments. It will be the first step of that "Territory Museum" the Ethnological Museum has always wished since first years of its own foundation and that will develop as Eco-Museum all around the Brianza. |
